Kingsley Healthcare Group is proud to have set up its primary philanthropic arm, The Lotus Children’s Foundation, which is a testament to our unwavering commitment to serving our communities, both locally and on a wider scale.
As a core pillar of our ethos, philanthropy isn't just something we do, it's a part of who we are. The Thayan family, founders of Kingsley Healthcare, established this charitable foundation in the wake of a catastrophic natural disaster that had a devastating impact on their homeland.
In December 2004, while holidaying in Bentota, Sri Lanka, the family witnessed first-hand the horrifying effects of the Boxing Day tsunami. They were deeply moved by the immense human loss and suffering it caused. This pivotal experience solidified their commitment to lend a helping hand wherever and whenever possible, leading to the creation of The Lotus Children’s Foundation.
From its humble beginnings in a disaster-stricken area, The Lotus Children’s Foundation has since blossomed into a beacon of hope for countless individuals and families across the globe. It has provided vital support to hundreds of individuals, ensuring young students can continue their education while their families work to rebuild their lives.
Our mission at the foundation, however, goes beyond the provision of immediate disaster relief.
A primary focus lies in the fostering of long-term sustainability through education, healthcare, livelihood assistance programmes and community work. Whether it's helping a child in Sri Lanka to continue their schooling, providing medical aid in Colombia, supporting social enterprises in Spain, nurturing community projects here in the UK or reaching out to vulnerable communities in Pakistan and India, we believe in providing the support that empowers people to thrive independently.
The Lotus Children’s Foundation continues to actively support communities by ensuring our aid reaches the very people who need it most.
