Colne House care home celebrates good rating from Care Quality Commission
A CARE Home is celebrating a good rating in its latest Care Quality Commission report. Colne House, on Station Road, Earls Colne, was rated good in all areas during an inspection on November 8. Staff at the home, which provides accommodation and personal care for up to 38 people, were praised for their understanding of safeguarding procedures and for how they treated residents. The report stated: "Staff treated people with warmth, kindness, dignity and respect and spent time getting to know them and their specific needs and wishes.
"All the staff had an excellent knowledge of people's likes and dislikes, and were able to engage with everyone in a person centred manner." The home was also praised for having the correct quality monitoring systems in place and the staffing levels were described as adequate to meeting people's needs. Sue Moreby, deputy manager at Colne House, said: "We are a team at Colne House and we all work closely together to ensure our residents receive the highest possible care. "We pride ourselves on being warm and friendly, providing a homely atmosphere where people feel valued."
