Don’t miss our Spring Art Exhibition at King's Court care home in Holt!
An impressive range of artists will be exhibiting their eclectic work at our Spring Art Exhibition in King’s Court care home, Hempstead Road, Holt.
The display at Kingsley Healthcare’s new luxury care home, which opened last month, will run from Thursday, 30th May to Friday, 7th June, from noon to 5pm daily.
Entry is free and tea, coffee, juices and pastries will be served in our community café.
Artwork on show will include paintings, photographs, sculptures and handmade jewellery; some pieces will be available to purchase with 10pc going to Kingsley Healthcare’s adopted Norfolk charity The Black Dog Music Project.
Julia Chapman-Wright, home manager at King’s Court, which has 66 beautifully appointed bedrooms, spacious living areas and such appealing features as a cinema room, library and community café, said: “It’s important for us to be at the heart of the local community and we are planning lots of events to excite local people as well as our residents and their families.”
Among artists exhibiting are Maria Hristova, a third-generation artist born in Bulgaria but now settled with her family in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. Working with oil or acrylic, she also makes original jewellery and accessories from polymer clay, leather and wool.
Another exhibitor, Jan Heath, started painting when she retired from teaching and won television fame when she experimented painting on used teabags as a form or recycling and saving on storage space. To explore her work, click here to visit her Facebook page www.facebook.com/justlovetopaint/
Florence Murray, a student at Suffolk New College, started photography three years ago when she received her first camera as a Christmas gift.
She said: “I love experimenting with the timeless elegance of black and white and am particularly drawn to capturing the human form.”
Sky Carver is an accomplished artist in physical art forms whose work is inspired by nature and spirituality. Her work to be shown reflects the love she has for the woods and meadows surrounding her in rural Norfolk.
Meanwhile, Gordon Powles, Kingsley Healthcare’s head of design and production, who is inspired by the beauty of East Anglia, will be exhibiting his coastal scenes in oils.
Artists from the Norfolk and Norwich Art Circle - https://www.nnartcircle.com/ will be exhibiting while there will also be a display from students at Gresham School in Holt.
Norfolk charity The Black Dog Music Project - http://www.theblackdogmusicproject.co.uk/ - supports people with mental health conditions through music therapy, achieving remarkable results.
