The redevelopment of Colne House Care Home will transform the existing home into a modern, purpose-built facility while preserving its historic character.
Work on this boutique luxury scheme in Earl’s Colne, Halstead, Essex, will begin in Q3 2024 and be completed the following year.
The plans include a Listed Building Consent, which will enable the revamping of the existing Grade 2 listed building throughout.
Additionally, a new building will be constructed on the opposite grounds and connected via a semi-submerged link. This will provide stunning views overlooking the golf course and enhance the care home's environment.
The new block will feature 33 luxury suites with purpose-built wetrooms, designed to provide residents with greater comfort and convenience.
In addition to this, the facility will have ample dining and lounge spaces, a welcome cafe and an experience room. The experience room will be designed to offer a range of activities, such as movies, games, and puzzles, to stimulate the residents' minds.
To cater to the increasing number of residents, the redevelopment plans include the construction of a new purpose-built kitchen and laundry facilities, along with welfare facilities for the staff.
The redevelopment will expand the existing 32-bed facility to a total of 58 bedrooms. This will enable more residents to receive high-quality care in a comfortable and modern environment.
The first floor will have terraces that will provide residents with the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. The home will also feature a hair salon.
