Local people are invited to book an open day visit to a new £12m luxury care home in Brackley ahead of its opening.

Brackley Nursing Home, in Wellington Road, will be opening its doors to the public on Friday, November 20, Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 22 from 9am to 5pm.

Visitors will need to book a time slot in advance by emailing home manager Sheena Croston at Brackley.manager@kingsleyhealthcare.co.uk. Numbers will be restricted to abide by social distancing.

VIP open day guests will include South Northamptonshire MP Andrea Leadsom and the Mayor and Mayoress of Brackley, Councillor Christopher Cartmell and his wife Jane.

Mrs Croston said: “We are delighted to be able to show people around what will be a fabulous facility for the local community.

“We want the home to become an important community hub. Once the Covid pandemic has gone away we look forward to inviting all kinds of groups into the home, from schools and Scout groups to choirs and WIs.

”It will be so important for our residents to maintain contact with their local community.”

Brackley Care Home has been built by Midlands-based Deeley Construction for Kingsley Healthcare, ranked a top 20 national large care home group by the review site carehome.co.uk.

The first residents are due to arrive before the end of November.

About 20 staff have already been recruited, ranging from nurses and support workers to kitchen staff and housekeepers; when the home approaches full occupancy it will employ more than 100 people.

The 66 bedroom care home features modern en-suite bedrooms.

Luxury features include a cinema room, library, café, hairdressing salon, quiet lounges and a conservatory.

Outside, there will be extensive gardens with beautiful landscape architecture, including a water feature.
