First resident welcomed at £12m Brackley Luxury Care Home
The first resident at the new £12m luxury Brackley Care Home declared she had wanted to move in ever since she had seen a story in the local paper about construction work starting in 2019.
Sheena Croston, manager of the Kingsley Healthcare-run home in Wellington Road, Brackley, welcomed Susan Baldwin, 74, with a bouquet of flowers.
Mrs Baldwin, who moved from another local care home, Juniper House, said: “My new home’s beautiful, the staff are so helpful and the food is amazing.”
Mrs Croston said: “It was wonderful to welcome Susan as our first resident. We now have four residents in the home and are getting lots of inquiries.”
Earlier in the week, Brackley Mayor Christopher Cartmell and the choir from Winchester House School attended the home for a Christmas lights switch-on.
The home, which has 66 modern En-Suite Bedrooms, a Cinema Room, Library, Café, Hairdressing Salon, Quiet Lounges and Conservatory, will eventually employ 100 people.
