Intergenerational PE lesson for Thorp Residents
A PE lesson did wonders for bridging the age gap!
Children from Caston Church of England Primary Academy impressed Thorp House residents with a demonstration of Yoga and Tai Chi. They were then impressed in turn when residents Frank, Molly and Lud showed off their version of balloon badminton.
The children then asked questions about school in the "olden days" and were interested to learn that slate and chalk were used instead of paper and that fresh milk was served from a large urn. They were especially shocked to learn that the cane was used as a punishment for just talking in class!
Lud was surprised to realize there was 92 years between the youngest student and himself. "Suddenly I feel very old", he said.
