Staff at Oaklands care home in Scole near Diss are celebrating a glowing report from the Care Quality Commission.   The inspector gave the Kingsley Healthcare home in Norwich Road an overall good rating and rated it good in every category. Home manager Pat Collins said: “We are passionate about providing the best person-centred care and are delighted this has been recognised in the report.” The inspector noted that staff were “caring, kind, respectful and courteous”. “Staff members knew people well, what they liked and how they wanted to be treated,” he said. The report notes that residents enjoyed their meals and were able to choose what they ate; they received enough food and drink to meet their needs.

Residents received their medicines when they needed them and staff members who administered medicines had been trained to do this safely. The inspector said staff received the right level of training to equip them with the skills and knowledge to carry out their roles.   Residents felt safe at the home and staff supported them in a way they preferred. The report notes: “Good leadership was in place and the registered manager and provider monitored care and other records to assess the risks to people and ensure that these were reduced as much as possible and to improve the quality of the care provided.”
