Colne House care home rated Good in every category in Care Quality Commission (CQC) report
CQC inspectors received glowing endorsements from residents during their visit last month to Colne House care home in Earls Colne.
One said the Kingsley Healthcare run service in Station Road was “an amazing place” and described new manager Victoria Franklin as “very sympathetic”.
Staff were equally positive, telling inspectors about the good team spirit in the home.
One staff member said: “The manager puts residents first; we feel we are getting somewhere and have purpose.”
Mrs Franklin, who has risen through the ranks, having worked at Colne House for 10 years, told inspectors the team kept itself updated on current best practice in dementia care, stressing: “Everyone is different, one person’s dementia is not the same as the next”.
The report describes Colne House’s positive engagement with the community; residents enjoyed dementia friendly films put on at the local cinema and the home was planning to play a full part in village jubilee celebrations.
The inspectors were satisfied that Colne House provides a safe environment for residents, highlighting the careful measures in place to prevent and control infections.
Mrs Franklin said: “We are delighted to receive such a positive report. I am fortunate to have the support of a brilliant team with many long-standing and loyal employees”
