Maggie enjoys retirement send-off at Colne House after 25 years

colne 25years service staff retirement 2022

Staff at Colne House have finally had the chance to say goodbye to Maggie Thompson who retired in December after working at the home for more than 25 years.

Maggie unfortunately contracted Covid in her last days working at the home in Earls Colne so there was no chance of a big send-off before Christmas.

She returned this week for afternoon tea with staff and residents and was presented with gifts by manager Victoria Franklin.

Maggie, 66, began as a carer before a 10-year stint as cook, ending her time at Colne House as a domestic.

She said: “There has always been a brilliant atmosphere at Colne House, the staff and residents are really lovely and I will miss them.

“My partner Mick and I will now be enjoying lots of travel, lots of days out and happy times with our grandchildren.”
