Staff at Kingsley Home Care in Diss proud of Good CQC rating at first inspection

cqc rating good homecare

Staff at Kingsley Home Care in Mere Street, Diss are thrilled to have received a Good rating in their first inspection by the Care Quality Commission.

Inspectors rated the branch, Kingsley Home Care’s first in East Anglia, good in every category, finding the service to be safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led.

Head of Home Care Kirsten Brooks said: “This is a fantastic achievement for our first inspection. Over more than two decades Kingsley Healthcare has established an enviable reputation for its care homes; we are proud to be taking the same values of a trusted family-run business into home care.”

The inspection report states that service users and their relatives are happy with the care staff, one person describing the service as “100 per cent reliable”.

Inspectors found that robust recruitment processes were in place and staff were well trained and understood their responsibilities.

Service users said their care was well planned and delivered consistently in a manner that was appropriate to their needs.

One told inspectors: “Care staff are very encouraging and patient. Nothing can be improved upon.”

Meanwhile, a family member said: “I hear the care staff and my relative laughing together and staff treat both of us with respect and uphold their dignity and choice.”

Service users told inspectors that the care staff gave them choices and respected their decisions and requests.

Inspectors reported that the service was well led and that there was a culture that promoted high-quality, person-centred care.

Ms Brooks said: “We would love to meet local people at our new office 36F Mere Street – for a friendly chat over a cup of coffee.

“Maye you are considering a little help or support for yourself or a loved one or you know somebody who is looking for a rewarding career.”
