I started my career in the care industry and soon realised my passion was nursing. I have acquired considerable experience working for the NHS in various positions as well as in private care homes. Since joining Kingsley, I have progressed from Clinical Lead Nurse to Home Manager at Woodbridge, before moving to Allonsfield. I love the support you get from a family run company and I am blessed with a great team. Outside work, I love reading and gardening and enjoy travel.

Madeline Byer

Deputy Manager

I have worked in healthcare since 2010, I started as a support worker and then completed my degree in Mental Health Nursing 2016. I have worked on acute wards as well as nursing homes. Being an advocate for people with physical and mental health needs has always been a passion of mine and I have always been drawn back to working with the older generation. I believe in being honest, compassionate, kind and having good listening skills. I will always do my best to help anyone who is struggling. Being holistic and working with the Multi-Disciplinary Team is key when caring for residents and their family. I will always strive to empower my team to provide the best quality of care possible. I love all things Disney so if I'm not at work I'm probably visiting Disney World. I have a good sense of humour and like to lead life and work with a positive attitude. A happy atmosphere is contagious and this is always my goal!

Lucy Rhys-Williams

Hospitality Manager

I gained several years experience managing hotels before I joined the team at Allonsfield House Nursing Home and am passionate about the work that I do. I have worked with the company now for two years and have loved every moment of moving into this industry. I am a qualified holistic therapist, reiki master and integral sound healer so was very excited to join the team at Allonsfield as they have an amazing therapy farm. The atmosphere at Allonsfield House feels just like a family and I am proud to be part of a team delivering a first class experience for our residents in a warm country setting. We are very lucky to be in a beautiful area of Woodbridge surrounded by wonderful countryside. Outside of work I enjoy exploring, walking, road cycling, gardening and all things holistic. I hold sound baths in my local village as well as reiki sessions for friends and family. I believe that it is so important to have peace mentally, physically and spiritually and I do a lot in my free time to harness this.

Victoria Parrish

I have been working here at Allonsfield for two and half years. However, I have worked in the care sector for 17 years in many different roles and I can honestly say Allonsfield is the loveliest place I have worked. The residents make me smile every day and I enjoy having a “natter” and listening to their own and family history. My family are very important to me and I spend most of my spare time with my nephew and nieces and I love being Aunty Vic. I also like to watch crime dramas and documentaries.

Ken Ambler

Chef

I was born in France and educated in the French system right through to a degree in Hotel and Hospitality. I came to the UK to begin my career starting as a Sous Chef and then eventually into role of a Head chef within a Hotel and Restaurant establishment. I opened my own restaurant specialising in Sea Food and then I ventured into a Brasserie in Ipswich During the pandemic as the restaurant was unable to open I was able to help a company working within the care industry. Working in that environment made me think about bringing my new skills and cooking together this is when I began to work here at Allonsfield.

Sally-Ann Smith

Head Housekeeping

I have been working here at Allonsfield for 15 years as head of housekeeping. I am organised and efficient and I take great pride in my work to ensure the home is clean and presentable at all times. I really enjoy my work and I love being here for the residents, not only to help make a difference to their day, but also to see them smile. In my spare time I like to cook and I enjoy watching wildlife documentaries, especially if this involves David Attenborough.

Tony Holland

Regional Operations Manager

Prior to joining Kingsley, I served in the Army for 26 years, planning and delivering healthcare around the world, and then spent two years as an operational manager in a major NHS hospital. I am delighted to have joined a team that really does feel like a caring family, where everyone wants to be proud of the care they provide. Although I am familiar with the region, my travels to my 10 homes across Suffolk and Essex frequently bring new places to subsequently explore with my family and our dog, Frankie.

Lukasz Wawrzenczyk

Operations manager

I joined Kingsley in 2005 when I came over from Poland and joined the team at Lilac Lodge, in Lowestoft, as a domestic worker. I then became a support worker and was subsequently promoted to senior support worker, deputy manager and then operations manager. I love working for Kingsley because it is a family-run business and there is always someone to support you. Outside work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.

Joanna Holt

Service Quality Manager

I worked in community health services before spending nearly 10 years at the Care Quality Commission as an inspector and then as an inspection manager. The part of my job I enjoy the most is being out in the care homes, seeing first-hand the pride and dedication of our home managers and the family atmosphere they engender. Outside of work, I love hiking and enjoying our wonderful British countryside.
