101 Birthday celebrations for Violet

Woodbridge Lodge resident Violet Gower celebrated her 101st birthday this month surrounded by her family, friends, residents and staff at the residential home. Born in Ipswich, Mrs. Gower lived in Clapgate Lane with her husband of 55-years, Charles, before moving to Cambridgeshire and then Woodbridge.
She was a war evacuee, mother to Margaret, chairman of the Bottisham Women’s Institute, and very proud grandmother and great-grandmother to Richard, Victoria, Brandon, Connor, Owen, Annabelle, and Imogen. She moved to Woodbridge Lodge when she was 99.
On her special day, on June 14, Vi enjoyed a glass of champagne, cake and a buffet made by the home’s chefs Claire and Rena while watching singer Gill Nicholls perform. Woodbridge Lodge manager Lorraine Young said “We were very pleased that Violet and her family celebrated this joyous occasion at our home. All the residents enjoyed making birthday cards for Violet.”
