‘Don’t forget me’ Community Café

1

The ‘Don’t forget me’ Community Café is a dementia café that has been organised between Hadleigh Nursing Home, Waterfield House and Magdalene House.

The local care homes have linked together to provide a dementia café that will be held in one of the homes each month.

The Café will provide social, emotional interaction and stimulation and will support the wellbeing of those who attend the café.

We are inviting carers of the people atttending the café to come along as well as it will be a great benefit to them.

Hadleigh Nursing Home originally  invited  the other local care homes, Charlie Potter from Abbey Croft, the local MP’s office and  Ansell Centre to a planning meeting to organise how we can work together to provide the Café as a community.

The first Trial Run  ‘Don’t forget me’ session was hosted by Hadleigh Nursing Home on Wednesday 28th June. The other local care homes were invited to bring residents and staff.

Ellana Cook, from MP James Cartlidge’s office, volunteered her support.

Overall the first trial run was a huge success.
