Staff at Highcliffe Nursing Home are proud of their glowing Care Quality Commission inspection report
Congratulations to Highcliffe! Staff at Highcliffe Nursing Home are proud of their glowing Care Quality Commission inspection report. The inspector, who visited the Kingsley Healthcare run home in Stuart Road, Highcliffe last month, rated the service good in every category and good overall.
She found it to be safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. Home manager Tracey Millar said: “This is a tribute to the dedication and enthusiasm of all my staff who have worked really hard to completely turn around the fortunes of the home after a difficult period a couple of years ago. “We are passionate about providing the highest quality care and are delighted this has been recognised by the inspector.” The inspector reports that one resident told her: “You always have someone around you can call for help. You only need to ask them and they will try their best to help you.”
Another said: “They (staff) respect my decisions. I can say no and they will listen.” Meanwhile, relatives described staff as “wonderful” and “very attentive”. Both residents and family members praised the “fantastic” quality and choice of food. The report describes how the home’s caring culture extends to taking the time and trouble to put on really imaginative events, such as decorating the garden with lights and hiring a snow machine to create a White Christmas experience.
Residents, family members and staff all spoke positively about the management of Highcliffe with one relative telling the inspector Mrs. Millar had done a great job in turning the home around. Meanwhile, staff said there was an open culture where they were supported but were able to talk freely and share ideas.
