The new manager at Colne House care home is a familiar face to residents and their families.

For Elena – known to everyone as Elaine - Parnell had been deputy manager at the home in Earls Colne, near #Halstead, since June last year.

She is thrilled to be taking on the challenge and vowed to work with her “amazing staff” to take the home to the next level.

“The staff here are really passionate about their residents and it is so good to work with them,” she said.

Elaine brings with her nearly 50 years of experience in the care sector, working in diverse settings.

“Before I came to Colne I was registered manager of a service for young people with mental health needs for 12 years,” she said. She said there was a tremendous relationship between staff and residents’ families who had been so understanding about the necessary visiting restrictions.

“The team has worked really hard to keep residents safe and we have managed to keep the home free of Covid throughout the pandemic,” she said.

Elaine said once the pandemic threat has gone away she is looking forward to resuming the home’s amazing links with the community. “We want to welcome back local families to our popular events such as our summer fete and fireworks evening,” she said.
