Meet Our Team
A big welcome to Nicola McCourt who is our new home manager at Allonsfield House. Nicola brings 15 years of experience in the care sector to her new role. Her most recent experience was managing a domiciliary and supported living service for people with learning disabilities as well as older people. She is excited about the challenge of taking the home forward from its already favourable position. She said: “We already have a Good CQC rating so the next step must be to aim at achieving outstanding. “We are fortunate to have fabulous facilities here at Allonsfield House, including our very own smallholding, Allonsfield Farm, which is a great resource for residents.”
I started working at Allonsfield in February of this year as one of the Hospitality Hosts. I have spent most of my career working within the hotel industry, and more recently within the mental health sector. I bring a diverse set of skills and abilities to the home together with knowledge and experience.During the pandemic I have not been able to completely fulfil my job role, but this is giving me the opportunity to spend valuable time getting to know the residents and the home. I value working together as a team, making a positive contribution to the residents dining experience. I have a caring nature which drives me to contribute in making Allonsfield a home for every resident. I enjoy exercise, gardening, reading and cooking.
Erica joined Allonsfield House in September 2020. Prior to this, she worked for Ipswich Borough Council in the community response team and as an assessor for qualified education. Erika has a positive attitude and is a very friendly, approachable person. She enjoys keeping fit and playing team sports. Prior to Covid 19 she regularly trained with local ladies netball and touch rugby teams. Erika also enjoys taking her dog for long walks along the beach.
Dance is my passion, I had amazing teachers who help me to express Ballet and Peruvian Folklore. Whilst studying Education, I was always encouraged to be creative with my teaching, and using the Psychology skills that I learned. I have applied all this knowledge into my days working with residents in care homes. It makes me happy to see the residents singing, making rhythms with their hands or feet or dancing, sharing their abilities. We are very lucky to be able to talk with seniors, who bring their history to life with their memories from when they were young.
Sally Ann has been head housekeeper at Allonsfield House for 11 years. She is well organised and efficient and particularly enjoys interacting with the residents and making them smile. Sally Ann is very helpful to all staff and always makes new employees feel very welcome. Sally Ann always has a smile to make people feel very relaxed, she ensures that Allonsfield has a safe, warm and welcoming environment and strives to make the place feel like home from home.
