Staff and residents at Oaklands Care Home have been given a double reason to celebrate.

Inspectors have rewarded all their hard work during a tough period with a good CQC rating, praising the home’s “positive culture that is person-centred, open, inclusive and empowering”.

A second welcome boost to the home comes from the fact that residents and staff have now been vaccinated against Covid.

Home manager Julie Robinson said: “The home has remained Covid free throughout the pandemic but vaccination has given added assurance to our residents and their families.

“We are delighted to be able to safely welcome new residents into our home that visitors all agree looks absolutely fabulous after an extensive programme of redecoration.”

She praised her staff for their tireless efforts in achieving the Good rating.
